This dataset is the classic collection published by Vosoughi et al. in Science, comprising 126,000 news cascades, including 24,409 verified true and 82,605 verified false pieces of information. These items were shared over 4.5 million times and reached more than 3 million users, covering seven topics: Business, Entertainment, Natural Disasters, Politics, Science\/Tech\/Food\/Health, Viral Photos\/Stories\/Urban Legends, and War\/Terrorism\/Shootings.
