Heat-mediated manipulation of gene expression by IR-LEGO in the developing genitalia in Drosophila
In this study, we employed the infrared laser-evoked gene operator system (IR-LEGO), which utilizes infrared laser irradiation to induce gene expression under the control of a heat shock promoter. We optimized the laser power and focal depth targeting pupal genitalia of Drosophila melanogaster. Furthermore, we tested the ectopic knock down of genes such as yellow (y) and odd-paired (opa) by RNA interference.
