TheworkshopreportisasummaryoftheNationalNanotechnologyInitiative(NNI)-sponsoredeventheldSeptember11-12,2014,entitled“SensorFabrication,Integration,andCommercializationWorkshop.”Thegoaloftheworkshopwastoidentifyanddiscusschallengesthatarefacedbythesensordevelopmentcommunityduringthefabrication,integration,andcommercializationofsensors,particularlythoseemployingoraddressingissuesofnanoscalematerialsandtechnologies.Workshopattendees,includingsensordevelopersandrepresentativefromFederalagencies,identifiedwaystohelpfacilitatethecommercializationofnanosensors,whichinclude:Enhancingcommunicationamongresearchers,developers,manufacturers,customers,andtheFederalGovernmentagenciesthatsupportandregulatesensordevelopment.Leveragingresourcesbybuildingtestbedsforsensordevelopers.Improvingaccessofuniversityandprivateresearcherstofederallysupportedfacilities.Encouragingsensordeveloperstoconsiderandprepareformarketandregulatoryrequirementsearlyinthedevelopmentprocess.
