Determination of mollusc sample material for the Gesäuse National Park, investigation phases 2012 to 2017

In the testing years 2012 to 2017, a total of 76 test sites in the Gesäuse National Park provided evidence of mollusks. 53 mollusc species were identified in the 134 increment samples, including eight water snail species and 41 terrestrial snail species and four species of bivalve molluscs. The water mollusc fauna of the investigated spring areas is characteristically low in species, an exception only to individual small waters, such as the pasture dome in the Enns-Aue.
