Data for Water Occurrence Characteristics in Saturated Coal: A New Classification Method and Evolutionary Mechanism

Lignite was collected from the typical low-rank coal-rich basin (Erlian Basin) in inner Mongolia autonomous region. Subbituminous, high-, medium-, and low-volatile bituminous were collected from the eastern edge of Ordos Basin in Shanxi province. Thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry data of these samples after saturation with water are provided here, as well as low-temperature nitrogen adsorption curves and Fourier transform infrared spectra of the dried samples.
