Annotated record of the detailed examination of Mn deposits from the Aotea Seamount, Southwest Pacific Ocean

An elongate ENE-trending seamount in the New Caledonia Basin is interpreted as the product of basaltic fissure eruption. The age is unknown, but Pleistocene-Recent shallow water echinoids have been dredged from the summit, which is 550 fathoms below sea level.新喀里多尼亚海盆内一处呈东东北（ENE）走向的细长海山，被认定为玄武岩裂隙喷发作用的产物。该海山的形成年代尚未明确，但科研人员从其水深550英寻的山顶处，拖网采获了更新世-现代时期的浅海海胆类标本。
