The purpose of the participation survey of the City of Vantaa is to map out the experiences and views of the participation of Vantaa residents about their opportunities for participation and influence. Participation has now been studied three times on an urban level. This dataset includes the responses to the participation questionnaires for 2020, 2021 and 2022. The topics of the survey included participation experience, motivation and opportunities to participate, familiarity with information and advocacy channels, impact of participation, satisfaction with opportunities to participate and influence, favouring ways of participating and influencing, and trust in the city of Vantaa. The results of the survey will be used in the monitoring and development of the City’s participation work. The results are used, for example, in the work on the inclusion strategy theme, in the development of communication channels and in the planning of opportunities for participation. ##2020 survey The survey was sent to 2,000 Vantaa residents. Based on previous experience, the sample focused on those under 60 years of age, but otherwise the sampling was random. The survey was conducted in three languages: in Finnish, Swedish and English. The survey was open from 11 to 28 February 2020 and 555 people from Vantaa responded to the survey. In the sample, the emphasis was on young people under 35 years of age, but otherwise the sampling was random. The survey was conducted in three languages: in Finnish, Swedish and English. The survey was open from 9 December 2020 to 10 January 2021 and was answered by 399 Vantaa residents. For data protection reasons, some background information of the respondents has been removed from the material. In addition, some open answers have been deleted due to inappropriate language use. In the case of double replies (i.e. the respondent submitted a reply both by post and online), the online reply has been deleted.
