"Decentralized storage networks (DSNs) have become a key component of Web 3.0 for managing large volumes of off-chain data. However, in open and trustless environments, existing DSNs lack systematic verification and traceability mechanisms across the data lifecycle, including encoding, storage, and retrieval. As a result, abnormal behaviors such as malicious data tampering and falsified storage are difficult to detect and attribute, which significantly undermines system reliability and accountability.In this paper, we propose VISTA, a decentralized storage verification framework that provides fine-grained auditing and traceable accountability for DSNs. VISTA embeds zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) circuits into critical storage operations, enabling verifiable execution of encoding, storage, and retrieval processes without revealing data contents. In particular, we design a novel zero-knowledge proof of storage (ZK-PoS) mechanism to effectively detect hash-only pseudo-storage behaviors, allowing malicious storage miners to be accurately identified and held accountable.To support practical deployment, VISTA is implemented as a prototype system and evaluated under realistic storage scenarios. Experimental results show that VISTA significantly reduces file recovery latency while improving system security, auditability, and accountability efficiency, demonstrating its effectiveness and scalability for decentralized storage systems."
