This project contains the raw reads of Streptococcus pyogenes isolates cultured from active impetigo lesions and asymptomatic throats of individuals who were located in one of two remote indigenous communties in the top end of the Northern Territory, Australia.The aims of this project were to investigate the genetic diversity of the Streptococcus pyogenes population within the communities and to establish the impact of asymptomatic throat carriage and active impetigo on Streptococcus pyogenes transmission in this setting.
