To investigate the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of bacteria in indoor dust from university dormitories, the research team selected 12 dormitories (housing 48 students) at a university in Chongqing. A total of 1110 valid dust samples were collected from beds, desks, and floors across four seasons. High-throughput sequencing of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene was performed to analyze the species composition and relative abundance of bacteria in the dust, and statistical methods were used to examine their spatiotemporal differences. Alpha diversity analysis revealed that the bacterial species diversity in dormitory environments exhibited significant differences across seasons and spatial locations (sampling sites). Staphylococcus, Corynebacterium, and Achromobacter were the dominant bacterial genera. Bacterial genera such as Corynebacterium, Kocuria, and Enhydrobacter showed significant differences among seasons, spatial locations, and genders.
