The molecular mechanism of recalcitrant seed dormancy in Panax notoginseng is exceedingly unknown. In the present study, Illumina Hiseq 2500 high-throughput sequencing technology were firstly used to analyze the transcriptomic data of P. notoginseng seeds. The objective is to obtain some differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with dormancy release and desiccation sensitivity of P. notoginseng seeds, and thus is to elucidate molecular mechanism on recalcitrant seeds of P. notoginseng for the dormancy release during the after-ripening process.
