Social media rumor detection dataset

The social media rumor detection dataset includes two datasets: Twitter and Weibo. The Twitter dataset was published for MediaEval2016 to validate multimedia usage tasks. The Twitter dataset consists of 17 events, including textual content, additional images/videos, and other social environment information. The rumors in the Weibo dataset were verified by Weibo's official rumor debunking system as fake posts between May 2012 and January 2016. The non rumors in the dataset were collected from Xinhua News Agency, which is an authoritative news source in China.
