<b>Supplementary Table 1:</b> Carbonate content determined using gas source isotope ratio mass spectrometry. SSK (Subsample Keyworth) identifies bulk rock sample taken from aggregate bags; BLD number identifies bulk sample extracted from registered specimen. For aggregate bags sample depth is taken as the average of minimum and maximum depth of the integrated core section - typically a range of 1.4 m, for registered specimens the depth is taken from the catalogue of registered specimens with a precision of one inch.
