The experimental materials were supplied by the Myrica rubra (red bayberry) Germplasm Resources Nursery in Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province, China. After manual harvesting, they were stored in sealed bags at -20 degrees Celsius for 8 hours under dry ice. They were then transported to the laboratory and stored in a -80 degrees Celsius freezer. The samples were selected from six varieties (two yellow-white, two red, and two purple-red) at four stages: 30 days (young fruit), 60 days (hard core), 80 days (color transformation), and 95 days (mature) after the flowering of Yangmei on March 17, 2023. These samples were used for sequencing. Each sample included three biological replicates.
