Hurricane Otto impacts on a tropical forest soils

This study was conducted to identify how soil bacterial and fungal communities within tropical forest soils might change after a hurricane, and their possible roles in the C and N cycles, and processing of the hurricane-deposited canopy material on the forest floor. The project was conducted with the same permanent plots in Lowland, Upland and Riparian primary forests in Costa Rica 3 months before and 7 months after Hurricane Otto damaged the forests.
