Oral microbiota in Colombian populations with different gastric cancer risks

Gastric cancer incidence varies across Colombian populations, with distinct risk levels between municipalities. To investigate microbial factors potentially linked to precancerous gastric lesions, we recruited individuals from Barbacoas (low risk) and Cumbal (high risk). Saliva samples were collected for oral microbiota profiling using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. This submission includes only oral microbiota sequences, which were generated for comparative analyses between populations and in relation to gastric precancerous conditions.
