Metagenomic Sequencing Data of the Gut Microbiota from Guangdong small-ear spotted pigs: Illumina Short-read and Oxford Nanopore Long-read Hybrid Sequencing

This dataset comprises metagenomic sequencing data from fecal samples of Guangdong small-ear spotted pig, a locally adapted pig breed in China. A total of 11 samples were sequenced using Illumina paired-end short-read technology, and one pooled sample was additionally sequenced using Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) long-read sequencing. The combination of short-read and long-read data provides an opportunity for hybrid metagenomic assembly, improved microbial genome reconstruction, and enhanced characterization of complex gut microbial communities.
