<b><i>Aims</i></b>. To design a diet based on the requirements of finishing lambs for meat, supplemented with chia seeds (<i>Salvia hispanica</i> L.) and to analyse biometric parameters and fatty acids profile in meat. <b><i>Methods</i></b>. Eighteen male lambs of the Rambouillet breed of 25 kg body weight were used. Animals were kept in individual pens with water and feed <i>ad libitum</i>. Three finishing diets were designed (0, 50 and 100 g dry matter chia seed supplement) and were divided among the eighteen animals (n=6). Experiment period was 60 days. The weight of the individuals was recorded weekly. At the end of the experiment the animals were sacrificed, and the weight of the hot carcass and non-meat components were registered. Also, an analysis of fatty acid composition in muscle (<i>Longissimus dorsi</i>) was carry out.
