Shoalhaven River Erosion Prevention and Mangrove Planting.

This project proposes to implement erosion control efforts in the Shoalhaven River riparian corridor, and bush regeneration in high conservation priority reserves throughout the central Local Government Area including erosion control works along St Georges Basin estuarine foreshore. Weed invasion has occurred in the majority of Council's natural area reserves with a consequent decline in biodiversity and resilience, and recreational impacts have resulted in erosion along estuarine shorelines. Participants will be required to do site assessments, works plan preparation, fencing and planting mangroves, planting endemic tubestock, pre-treatment of weeds, follow-up weed control and erosion control works including sandbagging, plastic mesh fencing, and track diversion.
