Indium - a technology-critical element, is an emerging contaminant in environment. Crops grown in indium-contaminated soils show inhibited growth, hence limiting yields. The mechanisms governing the growth inhibition are unclear, hindering the efforts of finding effective solutions for the problem that implicates food security.
