Saliva-derived microcosm biofilms grown on different oral surfaces in vitro

To investigate the influence of surface properties and nutrients on the microbial composition, saliva-derived biofilms were grown in agar on three substrata: Reconstructed Human Gingiva (RHG) representing the soft tissue of the gingiva, a hydroxyapatite (HAP) surface representing tooth, and a titanium (TI) surface representing a dental implant.
