Comparision of palmitic acid, linoleic acid and arachidonic acid induced gene expression changes in SZ95 sebocytes

Lipids such as palmitic acid (PA), LA and its derivate arachidonic acid (AA), which is the source of various inflammatory lipid mediators, are known to modulate the functions of sebocytes. In this study we compared the gene expression changes in SZ95 sebocytes treated with PA, LA or AA. Our goal was to assess the specificity of sebocytes towards LA and to dissect the different roles for LA and AA in regulating sebocyte functions at the level of gene expression.
