Magic2 Mosaic Map IIM Sicilia Calabria (RNDT-Dataset) — Version 2.0

This GeoTIFF map with quota was obtained through the mosaicing of single-beam and multibeam data made available by the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy (IIM) in the areas below the coast not covered by the batymetric acquisitions carried out under the MaGIC Project. The result is the creation of a Digital Ground Model (DTM) with 50 m resolution and therefore comparable to the DTM MaGIC closest to the coast, with an overlap between the two bands of at least 500 m. This will allow DPC to have the two datasets available and decide the best solution for the overlap band (e.g. smoothing algorithms, interpolation algorithms, etc.), instead of having a data already integrated, but characterised by an error in the overlap band. The methodology for mosaicing has been agreed in several operational meetings in collaboration with DPC and IIM technicians.
