Genomic and Transcriptomic analysis of Segmental Gene Amplifications in laboratory-evolved Escherichia coli

The goal of this study was to characterize the expression of amplified genes in the immediate aftermath of gene amplification before any compensatory mutations arose to modulate gene expression in the bacterium Escherichia coli. Whole genome sequencing (Illumina short-read and ONT long-read) and RNA-sequencing data for laboratory-evolved E. coli populations and isolates containing large segmental amplifications was performed.
