The Klebsiella Pneumoniae Genome Project. Klebsiella pneumoniae

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a gram-negative bacterium that lives in soil, plants, and animals including humans. The species is pathogenic, commensal, and beneficial for hosts because it can cause pneumonia and can also promote the growth of plants as an endophytic diazotrophic bacterium. These opposing characteristics of the species have not been fully elucidated because of a lack of information, including the lack of a genomic analysis. The aim of the project is to provide information for deep understanding of the bacteria.
