Development of a Web-based Test Procedure Authoring and Execution Environment for Space Systems

Well defined test procedures are essential to the successful execution of integration and tests campaigns of flight projects. Various forms of test procedures have been used that resulted in irregular and inefficient processes. Ingenium is a web-based procedure authoring and execution environment developed at JPL to provide a streamlined process around test procedures. It has been successfully used for major flight projects such as Psyche and Europa Clipper missions. This paper gives an overview of Ingenium and discusses how it delivers a solution that covers the entire lifecycle of test procedures including authoring, execution, and post-execution reviews. The capabilities and implementation approach of Ingenium are discussed along with technical challenges encountered. Use of state-of-the-art S/W technologies allowed creating a highly interactive environment that supports complex engineering processes of flight systems integration and tests.
