资源简介:
genetics of Sporocytophaga myxococcoides. Sporocytophaga Myxococcoides is one of the species of in the genus Sporocytophaga and an aerobic cellulolytic bacterium isolated from soil. Sp. Myxococcoides is a yellow-pigmented, aerobic, Gram-negative bacterium. Sp. Myxococcoides can utilizes crystalline cellulose as only carbon and energy sources. Sp. Myxococcoides can degrade crystalline cellulose efficiently and it can also form cysts when the condition is not suitalbe for growth. Therefore, it is a great practical significance that studying its degradation strategy thereby improving the biomass degradation efficency. However, the strategy for cellulose utilization of Sp. Myxococcoides is unclear. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of this strain which may provide insights into the genomic basis of strategy for cellulose utilization.
