Sequencing of ITS2 from Eurasian Anopheles mosquitoes An. messeae, An. daciae and their hybrids. Anopheles messeae s.l. ITS2 sequencing

In this study, we collected and sequenced ITS2 from Anopheles messeae, Anopheles daciae and their hybrids in in 28 locations in 20 regions from four countries in Eurasia. Species diagnostics was performed based only on species specific nucleotides in positions 412 and 432. Nucleotide positions in ITS2 of An. messeae s.l. given in correspondence to the AY648982 (Nicolescu et al., 2004). The previously described SNPs in positions 150, 211, 215, 217, 412, and 432 distinguish ITS2 sequences of An. messeae from An. daciae (Naumenko et al., 2020) were investigated in details. Consensus variants of ITS2 sequences described.
