Appendix 1: Original Policy Document Excerpts with ESG Categorizations.

This dataset contains the complete collection of original text excerpts extracted from the four cornerstone policy documents of Malaysia's halal pharmaceutical governance, along with their corresponding ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) categorizations. The documents analyzed are: the Halal Industry Masterplan 2030 (HIMP 2030), MS 2424:2019, the Manual Procedure for Halal Malaysia Certification (MPPHM 2020), and the Drug Registration Guidance Document (DRGD). The data was generated through a systematic directed content analysis, where excerpts were coded based on a predefined ESG framework. This dataset underpins the quantitative and qualitative findings presented in the associated research article, providing transparency and allowing for the verification of the analysis concerning the salience and interpretation of ESG principles within Malaysia's halal pharmaceutical policy discourse.
