Nonlinear Urbanization-Climate Responses Amplified in Medium-Urbanization Zones: by coupling the Multi-Scale Urban Canopy Model in CAS-ESM2.0

This dataset contains model outputs and reanalysis data used to support the figures presented in the manuscript Nonlinear Urbanization-Climate Responses Amplified in Medium-Urbanization Zones: by coupling the Multi-Scale Urban Canopy Model in CAS-ESM2.0. The data are derived from simulations with the CAS-ESM climate model and the ERA5-Land reanalysis provided by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). The dataset includes outputs from both the control case (CTRL), which wiithout urbanization effects, and the experiment case (URB), which incorporates urbanization processes. These paired simulations enable the assessment of urbanization impacts on climate variables. In total, 24 files are provided in NetCDF (.nc) and NumPy (.npz) formats. The variables cover near-surface temperature (TREFHT, t2m), precipitation (PRECT, tp), urban fraction (urbanFrac), and trend diagnostics (trend, trend_land, trend_diff). The temporal coverage spans from 1998 to 2008, with daily to monthly resolution depending on the variable. These data were specifically processed and archived to reproduce the figures and analyses in the manuscript. A detailed description of the file contents and their correspondence with the manuscript figures is provided in the included readme.txt file.
