Wind observations in three excavated foredune notches of the Noordwest Natuurkern project

This data set contains wind observations in three foredune notches situated in Dutch National Park Zuid-Kennemerland, excavated as part of the Noordwest Natuurkern project. The data were collected with ultrasonic anemometers at 12 locations (4 in each notch) between November 2016 and December 2023. The text files windN2.txt, windN3.txt and windN4.txt contain the wind observations in notches that, as in Figure 1 of Ruessink et al. (2024, https://doi.org/10.3390/data9020037), are labeled N2, N3 and N4, respectively. Each file contains 20 columns: 1 - 6: year, month, day, hour, minute, decimal year 7 - 9: wind speed [m/s], wind direction [deg N], turbulent kinetic energy [m2/s2] for instrument SA01 10 - 12: wind speed [m/s], wind direction [deg N], turbulent kinetic energy [m2/s2] for instrument SA02 13 - 15: wind speed [m/s], wind direction [deg N], turbulent kinetic energy [m2/s2] for instrument SA03 16 - 18: wind speed [m/s], wind direction [deg N], turbulent kinetic energy [m2/s2] for instrument SA04 19 - 20: reference wind speed [m/s] and direction [deg N] from the IJmuiden weather station (WMO 06225), for location see Ruessink et al. (2024, https://doi.org/10.3390/data9020037). Missing values in columns 7 - 20 are indicated with NaN. Columns are separted by multiple blank spaces. The temporal resolution is 10 minutes. Each data value at time step t is based on high-frequency data collected in the previous 10 minutes. Time is UTC +1. Information on deployment time, instrument location and sensor height above the bed is provided in the file NWNKern_WindStationInformation.ods (Open Office format). The instrument names above (SA01, SA02, SA03, SA04) are the Paper Names in this file, not the Field Names. The X, Y coordinates are Amersfoort/RD New (EPSG:28992) and Z (elevation) is with respect to NAP (about Mean Sea Level).
