This work proposes the study of XAS, XMCD, and XMLD to investigate the magnetic characteristics of CrCl3@MWCNTs heterostructures, which were recently synthesized by the Deepak group in INL. This will allow to explore the magnetic properties complementary to preliminary bulk magnetometry with element specificity. Furthermore, this will enable experimental determination of the orbital and spin moments of the Cr
and Cl atomic components, and correlate these valuable information with that obtained in flat geometry 2D single layer and powder forms. Additionally, the results will help us identify magnetic fields and temperatures in light of future complementary or follow-up investigations, and provide a foundation for further optimization
of the fabrication or handling procedures.
