We used microarray analysis to study the global program of gene expression in the liver of 21 patients with histologically proven NASH who had an improvement in disease activity, including a decrease of lobular inflammation and/or ballooning, one year after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Overall design: High quality RNA appropriate for microarray analysis was isolated from liver biopsies at baseline and after one year follow up.
