Annual thaw depths at BCEF LTER floodplain sites

Numerous soil active layer studies are taking place in Bonanza Creek Experimental Forest, and at the Wickersham fire site north of Fairbanks, Alaska, USA. This dataset contains the data for the active layer study taking place on floodplain sites of the Tanana River southwest of Fairbanks.

Weekly depth of thaw measurements are made at each of the 9 LTER environmental sites in Bonanza Creek Experimental Forest and annual thaw depths are measured at the time of maximum thaw at any of the other 27 Bonanza Creek Experimental Forest sites that have permafrost or intermittent seasonal frost.
