Microbial analysis of NASH-induced rat

Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a more advanced liver disease from fatty liver, and it is known to be irreversible if the disease stage goes to liver cirrhosis. However, there have not been accurate diagnostic methods for NASH; thus, it is very difficult to investigate NASH. In this study, we surveyed variations of gut microbiota to determine the compositional change of specific gut microbial species correlated to NASH induction, by which we devised a machine learning algorithm for non-invasive diagnosis of NASH.
