The Department of National Parks and Wildlife administered functions from central Head Office Directorates for the Southern, Western, Northern and Central regions of New south Wales. This was further broken down to Regional Offices and then to individual parks. Records held in the regional office series tend to relate to specific regional issues or sites. This series predominantly contains files relating to soil and vegetation management, cultural heritage surveys, and licensing and enforcement investigations.Regional offices had their own filing systems and were responsible for the maintenance of these files.File prefix FIL applies to the Office of Environment and Heritage.File prefix DNR relates to the Department of Natural Resources and were merged into the Department of Environment and Climate Change in 2008.Within each file type, the records are arranged by file number.
