Change in lncRNA and mRNA content of brain-derived extracellular vesicles following chronic intermittent ethanol vapor exposure in female mice

To understand how chronic intermittent ethanol vapor exposure changes the RNA content of brain-derived extracellular vesicles, we isolated total RNA and used lncRNA/mRNA microarray analysis to examine differential expression following CIE exposure in female animals Adult, female C57BL/6J mice were exposed to ethanol vapor or room air for 8h a day, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks. Animals were euthanized immediately following the final day of exposure and brains collected.
