Abstract: This record contains dual water isotope measurements (δ18O, δD) of polar precipitation from the Mount Brown South ice core covering 1137 y of paleoclimate history at ultra high resolution. The coring site covers the poorly sampled Indo-Pacific sector of East Antarctica and with its relatively high annual accumulation (greater than 0.25 ma-1 ice eq.) constitutes a unique record of past climate variability. The record consists of two δ18O, δD sub-datasets. The first (mbs_water_isotopes_a) covers the top 104 m and is based on discrete sampling of the core at a resolution of 0.03 m. The second (mbs_water_isotopes_b) spans the depth range 93-294.7 m and contains very high resolution measurements performed with a Continuous Flow Analysis system (CFA) at a nominal resolution of 0.005 m. Both datasets employed Infra-Red Laser Spectroscopy techniques presenting state of the art metrics with respect to precision and accuracy.
