Data for: Demographic and genetic factors affect the use of translocation for evolutionary rescue: A case study of American chestnut using simulation

In this study, we evaluated the demographic and genetic factors necessary for restoring American chestnut (Castanea dentata), a high-profile case of tree species collapse in North America. Using a stochastic stage-structured model, we explored the potential of translocations involving blight-resistant genotypes to mitigate extinction risk. Our findings emphasize the importance of spatially clustered translocations, increased recruitment rates, and strategic management to support population recovery.
