Taxonomic Studies on Ten Species within the Genus Impatiens Based on the Complete Chloroplast Genomes and Morphological Researches

The southwestern region of China harbors rich wild Impatiens diversity with numerous endemics. However, high species diversity and limited research have resulted in unresolved taxonomic and phylogenetic relationships. This study examines the chloroplast genomes of 10 local species to clarify taxonomic status.To investigate the taxonomy of 10 Impatiens species, we employed morphological comparisons and genomic sequencing. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted using the complete chloroplast genome sequences of 32 species from the Balsaminaceae family to determine the phylogenetic positions of the species and to guide taxonomic decisions.
