fecal microbiota in FH/Wjd rats and normal rats

In this study, a total of 126 Fawn-Hooded (FH/Wjd) strain rats'' fecal microbiota and Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats'' fecal microbiota were tested before Jan 2015. These samples were collected in Department of Laboratory Animal Science in Peking University Health Science Center. rats were housed in groups of four could free access to water and food under a light: dark cycle (12h: 12h), constant temperature (22 ? 1 ?C) and humidity (70%). The fecal of two strains were collected every week (from 5 weeks to 8 weeks). rats were kept in a clean box alone when fecal collecting. Fresh fecal were collected and stored at -80?C for use. Total genomic DNA was extracted by using QIAamp DNA Stool Kit according to the manufacturer.The V3 region of bacterial 16S rRNA gene was amplified with primer pair 340F/1073R and pyrosequenced with a massively parallel 454-GS-FLX sequencer.
