Accommodation used for domestic travel in Iceland 2017, by type

The survey results showed that 38 percent of domestic tourists stayed in a tent, trailer or motor home when traveling in Iceland. Staying with friends or relatives was also fairly popular. According to the overall number of guest nights in accommodation in Iceland by both domestic and international tourists, hotels and guesthouses were used more often in 2017.
