Bud dormancy is a critical survival mechanism for woody perennials during harsh winter conditions. Previous studies have demonstrated the regulatory role of DORMANCY-ASSOCIATED MADS-box 6 (PmDAM6) in controlling bud dormancy in Japanese apricot (Prunus mume). Additionally, PmDAM6 exhibits increased expression in leaves during the autumn towards leaf fall, suggesting its potential specific role in leaf. The aim of this study is to uncover the regulatory role of PmDAM6 specifically in leaf.
