Fruit fall of Allanblackia stuhlmannii (Clusiaceae), a rainforest canopy tree with large fruits, was monitored inside 12 different 50x50 m submontane rainforest plots in the Amani Nature Reserve, Tanzania. Each time a plot was visited, newly fallen fruits were marked, counted, and categorized based on ripeness and condition. The purpose of these data was to record background fruit abundance (as a proxy for seed abundance) as part of a study following A. stuhlmannii seed fate.
