Pygmy Sperm Whale Oil/Dispersant Exposure and Adipogenesis

Pygmy sperm whale preadipocytes were pre-treated with various concentrations of oil/dispersant mixture, and then induced for adipogenic differentiation to assess the obesogenicity of crude oil. Lipid accumulation was quantified using AdipoRed staining and absorbance measurements using the Typhoon scanner. Results indicate that crude oil displays an obesogenic dose-dependent response curve in these cells.本研究以倭抹香鲸前体脂肪细胞为实验对象，先采用不同浓度的油/分散剂混合物对其进行预处理，随后诱导其成脂分化，以此评估原油的致肥胖性。实验过程中，通过AdipoRed染色法定量脂质积累量，并借助Typhoon扫描仪测定吸光度。结果表明，原油在该类细胞中呈现出具有剂量依赖性的致肥胖性响应曲线。
