The study includes 16S rRNA gene sequences (V3-V4 region) of 18 incidentally caught (or in rehabilitation) loggerhead sea turtles' oral and clocal microbial communities, as well as tank water samples (20 oral, 21 cloacal, and 9 tank water samples), and one negative control (sterile water run through the DNA extraction kit). The samples were sequenced by Illumina MiSeq 2x300 bp.
