Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park – External border of the National Park (LKN.SH – NPV)

With this data set, the area of the “Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea” National Park with its external border is provided without reflecting the location of protected zones 1 and 2. The course of the national park border is regulated by § 3 of the National Park Act (Law for the Protection of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea (National Park Act – NPG) of 17. December 1999; Legislative and Ordinance Bulletin for Schleswig-Holstein p. 518), as last amended by Art. 19 LVO of 16.1.2019, GMOBl. P. 30. The National Park was founded in 1985 and expanded in 1999. It serves the protection and natural development of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea and the preservation of its special character. The totality of nature in its natural development with all plants, animals and ecosystems has an intrinsic value to be protected (Section 2(1) National Park Act). In order to ensure an uninterrupted course of the natural processes, the national park was divided into two protection zones (protection zone 1 and protection zone 2), which are provided with different protection provisions (for details on the protection zones see Object ID: ED41FE5D-B260-4DE7-839E-21803829F5EA).
