Vertebrate diversity in Panama: An integrated appraisal using DNA barcodes

This project capitalized on a century of research into Neotropical vertebrates and leverage the power of large-scale DNA barcoding efforts to ultimately integrate evolutionary and ecological inferences from molecular genetic data across fishes, amphibians, non-avian reptiles and birds inhabiting a common landscape, the Isthmus of Panama and adjacent territories of Colombia and Costa Rica as specimens are available. This NCBI BioProject contains DNA barcode records that were generated with support from the federally-funded Smithsonian Institution DNA Barcode Network.
