Results of official health controls: ‘Alim’confidence’ information system

Description The publication of the results of health checks in the food sector (restaurants, canteens, slaughterhouses, etc.) is a legitimate expectation of citizens and contributes to improving consumer confidence. This measure, provided for by the Loi d’Avenir pour l’agriculture, l’alimentation et la forêt of 13 October 2014, is part of a move towards greater transparency in State action. The decree on the transparency of State controls in the field of food safety in France published on 17 December 2016 generalises the experiment conducted in Paris and Avignon from July to December 2015. The publication of the results of the controls carried out from 1 March 2017 in all establishments in the food chain will be effective from 3 April 2017, on the website www.alim-confiance.gouv.fr. Which sectors of activity are concerned? The aim is to make public the results of official food safety controls carried out in all establishments in the food chain: slaughterhouses, retail establishments (food businesses, restaurants, supermarkets, markets, farm sales, etc.), collective restaurants and agri-food establishments. What are the posting arrangements? Direct delivery establishments (restaurants, catering trades, distributors) and mass catering establishments will be able to display on their front the hygiene level of the establishment. This poster will be sent to them by the departmental services of the State.
