Psychotherapie als kapitalismuskritische Gesellschaftstheorie? Eine Replik auf Angelika Grubner Psychotherapy as a social theory critical of capitalism? A Replica to Angelika Grubner

Der vorliegende Beitrag versucht sich an einer kritischen Alternative zu Grubners Thesen und damit einer tauglicheren Antwort auf ein altes Streitthema, nämlich das der sozialen Frage in der Psychotherapie. In ihrem Artikel stellt Grubner metatheoretische Überlegungen zur Rolle der Psychotherapie im Neoliberalismus an. Sie stellt die These auf, dass die Psychotherapie zu einem Verlust politischen Handelns führe, da es durch die mit ihr einhergehende Verinnerlichung bzw. Individualisierung (sozialer) Problemlagen zu einem Verlust des Gemeinsamen bzw. der gemeinsamen Wirklichkeit käme. Damit würden die gesellschaftlichen Verhältnisse – der kontinuierliche Abbau des Wohlfahrtsstaates – einzementiert. Diese Thesen werden in dieser Replik hinterfragt. Zum Abschluss werden mögliche Alternativen zu Grubners Vorstellungen skizziert. This article attempts to provide a critical alternative to Grubner's theses and thus a more suitable answer to an old controversial topic, namely that of the social question in psychotherapy. In her article, Grubner offers meta-theoretical reflections on the role of psychotherapy in neoliberalism. She posits that psychotherapy leads to a loss of political action, since the accompanying internalization or individualization of (social) problematic situations, it would lead to a loss of the community or of the common reality. This would cement the social conditions - the continuous dismantling of the welfare state. These theses are questioned in this replica. In conclusion possible alternatives to Grubner's ideas are outlined. peerReviewed publishedVersion
